Helping Children and Teens Heal from Anxiety, Trauma, and Big Emotions

You Know Your Child.  And You Know When Something Just Isn't Right.

Maybe your child seems more anxious than usual, is spending more time alone, struggling at school, having bigger emotional reactions, or simply doesn't seem to like themselves.  You may sense that something is wrong, even if you're not sure how to explain it.

Maybe your teen has stopped talking to you, and you're left wondering what they're feeling or how to help.  These changes can be difficult and confusing for the whole family- but you don't have to figure it out alone.

You don't need to have all of the answers before reaching out for help.  Noticing a change and wanting to understand it is an important first step.

At SEL Counseling, I specialize in helping children, teens, and young adults work through anxiety, trauma, depression, overwhelming emotions, and difficult life experiences.  Therapy gives them a place to make sense of what they're feeling, learn healthier ways to cope, and begin feeling more confident and connected again.

Specialized child and teen therapy, close to home.  Serving families in Stokes County and surrounding communities with in-person care in Danbury, plus telehealth throughout North Carolina and Virginia.

If you've ever thought...

  • My child used to be so happy

  • Everything turns into an argument

  • My teen won't talk to me anymore

  • They seem anxious all of the time

  • I know something happened, but they won't tell me

  • They think everything is their fault

  • I just want my child back

If any of these sound familiar, you're not alone.  Therapy can help your child better understand their emotions, develop healthier coping skills, and rebuild confidence, while providing you support along the way.
